What is Breakdown Cover?

Breakdown cover is a form of insurance that provides roadside assistance if a vehicle breaks down and the driver is stranded in the middle of nowhere. This coverage is often provided through an national car association, through an insurance agency or as a part of a warranty plan. The coverage is known as “breakdown cover” in the United Kingdom and as a “roadside assistance” in the United States. It usually provides services such as flat tire replacement, jump starting a stalled vehicle, fuel delivery, towing a vehicle, unlocking service if a driver gets locked out of their car, pulling a car out of snow or mud.
