Contacting Insurance Companies Directly
Is anyone else confused about where to look for car insurance? I have no clue right now, where to even start looking let alone find a good deal. I remember when I first passed my test that the only way to find car insurance was to flick through the yellow pages and ring all the insurance companies, and then spend hours on the phone repeating the same details to some guy in a call centre. Usually I only rang two or three of the big companies as I just didn’t have the time to ring everyone listed. Now I know you can look on the internet and complete the same search through a broker and get quotes in a second from ten or twenty insurers. Which is great and for a while I thought this was one of the best things that the internet has brought us. But recently I have seen a number of big insurers advertising on TV that their chaeapest rates are not available through a broker and that you need to contact them directly in order to get their best deals. So are we seeing a revival of the old fashion method of contact insurers individually to find the best quote or is the internet still the way forward?
