Growing up, I was considered a “girlie” girl.  I was consumed with makeup, perfume, and getting my nails done.

But falling in love can take you down some very strange roads in life. It was the reason I ended up working side-by-side with construction workers and using Quincy air compressors the way I used to wield hair dryers.

Soon after I met my husband, who is a builder, he took me to a construction site and began to explain what the tools of the trade were used for.  To my surprise, I enjoyed building and soon was his weekend helper.

After fifteen years of marriage, we co-own the business and I spend at least half of my time on constructions sites, pitching in with the tools when I need to.

But I do still get my hair done.  Some things are not negotiable.
