How To Jump Higher With These Exercises

One exercise to help you on how to jump higher is split squat which makes use of a single leg to squat while the other leg is elevates on a bench at the back. It strengthens the leg and gluteal muscles. Lower the body until the back knee reaches the floor then launch back to the original position. It may be performed with a barbell on back or dumbbell in both hands. Repeat five to 15 times per set.

The deadlift exercise influences the upper back, trap and grip and strengthens the hamstrings and glutes. Basically, it is done by simply loading up a bar and bending down. Then, you grab and pick the bar up while maintaining a straight back. You should feel the tension in your glutes and hamstrings which are initiating the movement. One set is three to eight repetitions.

Building muscle is hard work for the body, it needs fuel to help it through the process, like a car needs gas and oil to run the body needs carbohydrates, proteins and healthy fats in order to run at peak performance.  A serious bodybuilder will watch what is taken in daily and keep it all in blance in order to achieve their goals.

Medicus Golf Club

There is an amazing new product in the world of golf to help improve your game.  It is called the Medicus club!  It has the incredible ability to let you know instantly if you are swinging the club incorrectly.  It has two sets of hinges near the head of the club and if you swing wrong then the hinges come undone and the club becomes bent.  So, you know right away if you are doing any part of your swing the wrong way. It also helps you gain confidence in your swing once you can start swinging without having the hinges come undone.

Add This Exercise to Your Jumping Workout

This exercise is a great addition to any vertical jump program because it does not require any equipment and works your leg muscles very well. This exercise is rhythmic alternating lunge jumps. For this what you do is get down into a lunge position which is a crouched position with one leg out and one leg back. Jump up and forward into the air and switch legs in mid-air. Land with your legs switched and repeat all the way down the court or other distance. If you do not have a long distance to travel down like a basketball court you could always just jump straight up instead of up and out.

Aunt Betsy’s Racing Photos A Big Hit

My son has decided that he wants to be a jockey. Since he is only 8, we didn’t tell him that it is extremely unlikely that he could be one, since his Father is 6’3″ and I am 5’9″. I think he is almost as tall as some jockeys right now! Anyway, he loves to watch any horse races that he can. Most of them are online viewing. We were thrilled when his Aunt Betsy got him some free horse racing photos and had them framed for him. You would think it was Christmas morning the way he jumped around and yelled!

Air Hockey Table and Paddles

Nicknamed “high-tops” because they appear to be small top hats or sombreros, air hockey paddles are the basic tools for play on your air hockey table. As the game grew so did the wants of its players. Some felt the handle jutted up to much, and preferred paddles with much shorter ones. These were finally called “flat-tops.” Still, others felt the handle proved to be ham-fisted altogether. This led straight to the creation of special paddles that resemble ashtrays. Here, the player can fit more of his / her hand into the paddle. With these, there is claimed to be more contact with the flat surface of the paddle.Still, people have differing opinions on what is best for their game.  Find the one that’s right for you.

I Need a Motorcycle

After I left the office the other day, I went for a walk down the street to pick up some coffee creamer.  While I was walking over there, I saw a motorcycle on the side of the road that had the nicest Scorpion Helmet that I had ever seen.  It made me really want to go out and get one of my own.  The only problem was that I did not even own a motorcycle, so there was not a point of me getting a helmet for one.  I put it out of my head and continued on my walk to the store.

Flying High

There are programs on TV where you can watch skate boarding competitions. Not that I’m interested in those mind you, but the kids were watching one day and I happened to walk by and catch those boys and girls on TV flying through the air. They started talking about skate shoes and how the shoe industry has really been stepping in and trying to make better shoes so these kids can do more tricks. They fly so high in the air I think I’d want super glue to keep my feet on the board. I’m surprised they don’t have more accidents then they do. It’s amazing to watch, but wouldn’t want to try.

All I Want for Christmas is my own Aircraft

Last Christmas my husband told me all he wanted for Christmas was his own plane.  I had visions of million-dollar aircraft and thought he might be a little unrealistic.  I did some research, however, and found homebuilt aircraft for sale.  The owners explained how the light planes worked and also advised that they should be flown by someone with a pilot’s license.  I bought a used plane for my very happy husband, who took flying lessons and now has a wonderful time on the weekends, piloting his little plane.  He must have thanked me twenty times for the gift, which he never thought he would get.
