Grandma’s Pine Furniture: Still Lovely After All These Years

My grandparents were what was known as “hardy stock”.  They had a great sense of humor and enjoyed life, but they worked hard and preserved everything they had, including furniture. They left all of their old, sturdy pine furniture to my mother, who had her own ideas about decorating.  All those lovely old pieces stayed in the attic for many years.  When I furnished my own home, I asked for and got that old furniture, which I had refinished, buffed, and polished.  I arranged it in my living room.  Every time I walk into that room, with its warm, beautiful wood, I can just feel Grandma chuckling.  I think she likes it.
