Too Much of a Good Thing?
A few of my friends got together about ten years ago and decided to create a website for their skateboard business in California.
Once the website was built, they hired an Internet guru to boost their search engine rankings, they handed out business cards, and very soon the orders started pouring in.
The trouble was, their actual business consisted of a garage in a parent’s home. Also, they found they needed several more (and bigger) commercial mailboxes, just for the orders.
Smart guys that they are, they soon began taking credit cards, leased an actual warehouse, and the business took off.
They’re still there, still making money, and still skateboarding in their downtime, even after all these years.
