She announced that she wanted to learn to play guitar.
Yesterday at dinner, my daughter announced that she wanted to learn to play guitar. My husband and I were not shocked by the news, as she has been contemplating the idea for quite some time. My mother, on the other hand, gasped when she heard the news. She has been a piano instructor for several years, and she always assumed that when my daughter began to show interest in a musical instrument, it would be the piano. Shortly after the start of the conversation, both my daughter and my mother were in tears. After a long discussion, they came to an agreement. My mother will give my daughter three piano lessons. If she still wants to play the guitar, rather than the piano, my mother will accept her decision and never mention the piano again.
