Sometimes men try too hard to think of just the right gift to give their women for Valentine’s Day. They think they have to read our minds: “Would she like flowers, or would she think flowers are too obvious?” However, it’s the thought that counts the most, though there is one, cardinal rule: When giving valentines day gifts especially, never give a woman an appliance. She wants her gift to say, “I love you,” not, “I want toast with my eggs.” Now, if you ask her what she wants for Valentine’s Day and she specifically states, “a new toaster,” that’s a different story. Just give her something nice from the heart. That matters more than whether the gift is traditional or original.
