Schlitterbahn-Texas’ Oldest and Most Popular Waterpark
When the temperatures in Texas begin to soar during the summer, flocks of people head for the oldest and largest waterpark in the state. That is Schlitterbahn, located in New Braunfels. Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Texas Hill Country, the Schlitterbahn waterpark offers a variety of fun ways to cool off during the hot summer months. One of the most unique features of this waterpark is the fact that the crystal clear Gaudalupe River runs directly through the waterpark. In addition, visitors can have fun riding a variety of different water rides such as three watercoasters and wild rapids as well as seventeen exciting waterslides. Schlitterbahn is also the home of the first artificial wave machine in the entire world. The park offers a number of delicious concession stands and food stands visitors can visit while in the park. Guests who would like to do so are also allowed to bring picnic baskets into the park with them, as long as they do not bring in any glass containers or alcoholic beverages. In addition to the original waterpark in New Braunfels, there are also Schlitterbahn waterparks based in South Padre as well as Galveston.
